Class Experience

I have a passion for learning and sharing what I know. I love teaching children in a fun and practical way. Spanish is my native language.
My wife and I homeschool our three children, 11, and 10, and recently my 17 years old graduated from high school and is starting college soon.
I have been homeschooling for the past 14 years. I've always been very active in our homeschool community co-ops, teaching cooking classes, science labs, geography, and history (with a focus on Venezuela and other Latin American countries), and coaching soccer/bowling teams.
I am a very patient educator who believes everyone is capable of learning a second or third language.
This class will allow the learner to communicate with simple sentences in Spanish like "Me llamo", "¿Que hora es?", "¿Cómo está el tiempo?" and much much more. At the beginning of each session, the learners will have the opportunity to practice and repeat the alphabet and numbers as a reinforcement of knowledge. The learners will be in constant communication with other learners to make the experience more interactive. We will be using many slides to show the right grammar and visualize the vocabulary. We will be playing different games such as "Memoria", "Sopa de Letras", "Unir", and many more. I believe the learning experience has to be fun! By making the class more animated, learners will enjoy it more and retain knowledge better. This is a friendly and safe classroom environment where learners can share their experiences with others and have a good time.

The weekly topics are listed below, though our discussions will not be limited to these topics alone. We will cover basic skills, such as greetings, feelings/moods, correct grammar/pronunciation, and so on.

09/06: Greetings, Alphabet, Numbers 1-20.
09/13: Colors, body parts, Numbers 21-50.
09/20: What time it is? Numbers 50-100
09/27: Days of the week, Numbers 1-100.
10/04: Month of the year, The four seasons.
10/11: Weather, Clothing.
10/18: My family, My community,
10/25: Hobbies, favorites places.
11/01: Shopping, Vacation.
11/08: My pet, My favorite sport.
Learning Goals
The learners will be able to say greetings and identify colors, numbers, and sounds of the alphabet's letters. Spanish vocabulary will be presented in each meeting for the construction of sentences, and basic Spanish communication skills.
