Class Experience

Hola! Welcome to Spanish Level 1 Beginner! In this ongoing course your child will gain the ability to communicate in Spanish, master the level 1 Spanish 1 skills (listed below), and enjoy the experience of learning a language in an engaing and immersive online classroom. The class combines songs, games, cultural lessons, grammar points, and vocabulary to help your child learn more effectively. I will use a combination of foreign language learning techniques like immersion, storytelling, direct method, and more.

Students can join in at any time as this is an ongoing class. They will need a pencil or pen and a notebook for some parts of the class. I will provide optional printable flashcards, a resource guide, and optional homework. At the end of each class they will recieve a copy of all the materials used in class in case they'd like to review at home.

Topics covered in this course are:
Week of September of 5th
Unit 1- The alphabet, introducing yourself, and basic greetings.

Weeks of September 12th, 19th and 26th
Unit 2- Family, Tener, Ser, Characteristics, Articles, Adjective- Agreement

Week of October of 3rd
Unit 3- School Subjects, Weeks, Months, Frequency Words

Weeks of October 10th and 17th
Unit 4- Estar, Emotions, Ser vs. Estar

Week of October 24th
Unit 5- Location, Asking Questions, Giving directions

Weeks of October 31st and November 7th
Unit 6- Animals, Likes & Dislikes

Week of November 14th
Unit 7- Household vocabulary, Chores

Week of November 21st
Unit 8- Health, Body Parts, Doler

Week of November 28th
Unit 9- Seasons & Weather

Weeks of December 5th and 12th
Unit 10- High Frequency Words, Conjugating present tense verbs (ar, er, ir)

Cait is a dedicated educator with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education, specializing in Spanish and English Linguistics & Literature. She’s TESOL, AMET, and EBE certified and has 13 years of teaching experience in the U.S., Spain, Thailand, Guatemala, and Mexico. She also offers beginner Italian and study skills courses for online learners. ✨🌎
