Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in Spanish.
Spanish immersion with Sra. Kimberly provides a time for young learners to listen, develop their attention span, practice oral communication, and learn new vocabulary in Spanish. This course is for native/near native English speakers to learn basic Spanish words, phrases, vocabulary, and culture via emergent reading instruction. This is a Spanish immersion class where the target language will be encouraged with comprehension checks in English.
I have been a world language educator in PreK-12 for over 20 years! Did you know that Romance Languages use general rules to identify the gender of nouns and adjectives and will be taught in the traditional manner? In the classroom, I will refer to boys and girls the way that I have been pedagogically trained, which does not include neutral gender using @ or X. If your learner has a non binary identity, please indicate this to me, and I highly recommend having this conversation with your learner prior to enrollment and clearly indicate the preferred gender/pronoun so I can address your learner appropriately (ie. Amiga for females and those who identify as female and Amigo for males and those who identify as male).
Parents are encouraged to review what their learner has been taught each week.
Families will receive notification each Sunday for materials needed for the upcoming week. It is very helpful to have access to a printer and to keep materials together in a folder.
No grades, but written feedback is available upon request.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
