What's included
2 live meetings
1 in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In Spanish Immersion Preschool, students will have FUN! We will learn greetings, emotions, family members, numbers, animals, colors, songs, etc. I will be showing slides of colors, rainbow, balloons, animals, and families. The lessons will use short songs for welcoming, finger family, colors, and include a good bye song. And as in every circle time class, I will be using props. My teaching style is played-based. I encourage students to sing out loud, make animal sounds and funny faces and so on. Students will bring the animal of the day I provided beforehand for printing. There is no need for previous Spanish language experience. In order to make students feel more comfortable and less afraid, I recommend having their favorite toys and snacks around. Having crayons and paper available so they can draw if they feel like it, is also a good idea.
Learning Goals
In Spanish Immersion Preschool, students will learn greetings, emotions, family members, numbers, animals, colors, songs and much more. The students will be able to identify objects and to count and to sing. They will recognize shapes. This is designed to help the students to build a base of understanding of the Spanish language so they can learn more advanced words and concepts in the future.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I’m Sergi!
I am a Spanish immersion language teacher and my passion is teaching Spanish to kids. I am a native Spanish speaker. I’m originally from Peru, where I was a college professor. After coming to the U.S., I obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education and have been working with kids here in the states for the last 10 years and have been teaching Spanish to kids, in-person and online, for the past four.
I love teaching kids of all ages but I have special training and experience teaching Spanish to preschoolers.
My teaching style is high-energy and play-based. I use a "total physical response" (TPR) approach that uses props, body language, singing, dancing, and other fun and interactive activities. I also adapt my techniques to each student's preferred learning style, which can be a combination of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic techniques.
My classes are typically taught 100% in Spanish. Because I use visual and other cues in my lessons, my immersion classes are suitable for kids with or without any previous Spanish language exposure. In my experience, teaching classes 100% in Spanish is much more effective than using bilingual lessons. Classes that use bilingual techniques, while they may be easier for the student and the teacher, are not as challenging and do not build a solid foundation towards Spanish proficiency as quickly as a does a full Spanish immersion experience.
My absolute goal is to personally engage with each and every student, and make each and every class as fun as possible to maximize learning. My greatest reward is seeing my students progress and share their joy of learning and speaking Spanish!
I look forward to meeting my next student!
Warm Regards,
Sergi
