Intermediate Level
In this ongoing course, students with a foundational understanding of Spanish—such as basic greetings, numbers (1–100), colors, the alphabet, common animals, simple actions, adjectives, and basic sentence structures—will continue developing their language skills through fun, theme-based lessons. Each week, we explore a new topic such as family, home, animals, clothing, body parts, food, daily routines, weather, school, transportation, jobs, city places, emotions, nature, materials, school subjects, space, and many more! Students will learn new vocabulary and sentence patterns, then practice using them in full sentences. The class meets twice a week: Day 1: Introduction of the weekly topic, key vocabulary, and sentence structures. Day 2: Practice through interactive activities and sentence building. Each session ends with a fun game using Blooket, Gimkit, or Kahoot to reinforce learning in an exciting way. Lessons are delivered through engaging PowerPoint slides filled with visuals and supported by interactive activities and games. This format keeps learners motivated while helping them expand vocabulary, improve sentence construction, and boost communication skills in Spanish. ⚠️ Please note: Students should be able to read in Spanish, as we include short texts and light reading comprehension practice. This course runs year-round with fresh topics each week—and new students are welcome to join at any time! Here are the topics for the month April-May: Week of April 7th - El clima alrededor del mundo (The weather around the world) Week of April 14th - Materiales escolares (School supplies) Week of April 21st - Rutinas diarias (Daily routines) Week of April 28th - Mi personalidad (My personality) Week of May 5th - ¡Hoy, ayer y mañana! (Today, yesterday, tomorrow - adverbs of time) Week of May 12th - Conociendo amigos nuevos (Meeting new friends) Week of May 19th - ¿Quién gana? más, menos o igual (Who wins? more than, less than, as...as...- comparative adjectives) BEFORE THE SESSION: ✔️When signing into the platform, please make sure to display your child's name (the same one you registered them with), so that we can allow them into the session. ✔️Please make sure the student knows how to use Zoom. Show them where the chat feature is and how to mute and unmute. ✔️Camera and microphone should be on at the start of the class. We need to verify all learners through a video check for safety reasons. DURING THE SESSION: ✔️If you are sitting in the room with your child, we ask that you do not distract them by encouraging them to speak Spanish or helping them as it may disrupt the flow of the group. If your child needs help or is feeling shy, we will support them. ✔️Only the student enrolled can be seen on camera. ✔️Please make sure the student is in a quiet environment. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLASS: ✔️We always teach the material the first day of the week and practice the second day of the week, so if your learner misses the first class of any given week, make sure they watch the recording and work on the games and activities before their second class. ✔️Practicing outside of class is vital. Download the flashcards for them and have them work on the online games to practice the new language. ✔️Please make sure students arrive on time to avoid disruptions. ✔️We play educational games during class, and these resources are incredibly valuable. Your learner may need help during class with accessing some of them (e.g. Kahoot; Blooket). In that case, they will be given an access code. No need to sign up! The websites are: https://kahoot.it/instructions https://blooket.com/play https://www.gimkit.com/join Thank you for your cooperation!

¡Hola, bienvenidos a SOL!
At SOL, we believe that learning a new language unlocks a world of endless possibilities, while fostering cultural awareness, empathy, and respect. Our goal is to create a fun, vibrant, and nurturing environment where kids can develop a deep love for the Spanish language.
Our Mission
We are committed to providing an enriching online learning experience that builds confidence, encourages curiosity, and makes learning Spanish an exciting journey. With every lesson, we aim to create a space where children feel empowered to speak, practice, and explore their language skills in a safe, happy setting.
Why Choose SOL?
Our passionate team of native Spanish-speaking teachers brings a wealth of experience in education and online learning. We genuinely enjoy working with children and use a variety of engaging methods to keep them motivated. Whether through theme-based instruction, gamification, or the natural approach to language learning, our lessons are designed to be dynamic, interactive, and enjoyable.
Each week, students explore new vocabulary and sentence patterns using fun interactive activities and games to reinforce what they've learned. Our approach is rooted in making learning both meaningful and fun.
How We Teach
Classes at SOL are student-centered, with minimal translation, encouraging natural language acquisition. Just like when they learned their first language, children at SOL develop their Spanish skills through practice, positive reinforcement, gentle corrections, and the use of gestures, body language, and visual aids.
We also incorporate gamification into our lessons, making learning both engaging and fun. By using game-like elements, we motivate students to stay involved, progress at their own pace, and enjoy the learning process. Gamification helps create a sense of achievement and boosts retention, keeping children excited and eager to learn.
