Spanish I - Semester long Spanish 1 Course
This is a 16 week long course that I currently teach with students in person. We will focus on all "skills" including reading, writing, speaking and listening. Varied activities will keep your child engaged.
Class experience
This is a 16 week long Spanish I course that I have taught for over a decade. Activities include solo work, group, games, listening to songs, etc. Each class will try and reach every type of learner to meet the needs of all students. Topics covered are listed below. Each topic is a unit that will take about 4 weeks. We will used varied assessments where parents will be able to track student progress throughout the semester. Students will focus on all of the "skills" of learning a new language - reading, writing, speaking and listening. Topic 1: introduction unit (basic conversational Spanish phrases, days of week, weather, numbers) Topic 2: Describing what we like to do Topic 3: Describing ourselves and others Topic 4: Describing our daily schedule, classes we have, etc. Topic 5: Read a novel Topic 6: Semester review, culminating project
I have taught Spanish 1 level for over 12 years. I have a masters in education also.
Homework Offered
Learners will complete homework individually. A "games" study guide will be provided. Occasionally a worksheet will be provided so students can continue practicing on own time.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
