Beginner Level
This is a level one Spanish class for absolute beginners. This is an ongoing subscription for students to learn the basics with vocabulary and grammar in Spanish. Some of the topics will include school, telling time, adjectives, activities, food, etc. FALL SEMESTER Our fall semester starts the week of August 25th and runs through December 21st. You can join anytime. If a class has 0 students it will start from day 1. Message us if you want to find out what day/time a specific class is on. This class builds on the material, but you're welcome to join up through unit 1.2 because it is still easy enough to catch on. We also have a pre-recorded class of the Preliminary Unit and Unit 1.1 available if you're joining later in the year with a group that already started. We also offer this class 2 times per week here: https://outschool.com/classes/spanish-1-for-middle-school-2-times-per-week-CzlMp4bY OUR TEACHERS: Please see the section on "Teacher Expertise" for details about each of our teachers. CLASS STRUCTURE - introduce new vocabulary or grammar with notes (We make sure to engage students while note-taking by adding group practice and activities in between slides) - practice pronunciation of new vocabulary/grammar in between note-taking - group practice (can include speaking, games, matching activities, etc.) - individual practice (usually writing/answering questions or using the chat box on zoom to answer a question) CLASS RESOURCES We use Google Slides and the Zoom whiteboard to teach. We sometimes use nearpod.com for interactive slides (see more in Parental Guidance). Students receive a PDF of the materials we use and a class recording is automatically posted within 24 hours of the lesson so they can watch the lesson again. Re-watching the lesson typically helps with pronunciation and vocabulary or grammar practice. We have an engaging teaching style where we incorporate games and discussion with the students. In that sense, we interact often throughout the lesson. 🔴 ➡️ NEW CLASSES STARTING NOW❗️ Any of the sections you see listed right now with 0 students are starting from the Preliminary Unit, which includes the alphabet, Spanish greetings, and weather.
