Beginner Level
Spanish Fun- Let's Learn Español! is a self-paced class that includes learning Spanish through a video presentation, repetition, visual props, songs, movement, and games. Each week, learners will receive an engaging video of me teaching the lesson of the week. In this video, I encourage and give your learner time to repeat after me as well as answer my questions in Spanish. I use lots of props, singing, and body movements to promote participation. Each lesson will have a different theme for the vocabulary to be discussed. Additionally, students will learn how to ask and answer questions regarding the themes using complete sentences. The video and class materials are not full immersion as there will be some English used as needed. Each lesson can be a stand alone class, and learners may come and go as their schedule allows. I will provide printables and resources for each class. Your learner will also get to play a super fun Kahoot game at the end of each class to further reinforce the learning. Student interaction: Every week, learners will create a short audio or video of themselves answering the question of the week and/or singing the Spanish song to share with me and other learners (if they feel comfortable doing this). Learners can also upload their worksheet to the classroom, and I will give feedback. NOTE: This class has no live meetings and follows a "flexible schedule format", allowing learners to work at any time during each designated week and for the duration of the course. The teacher can be reached through the Outschool classroom and through messaging on Outschool if a learner needs specific help. The cognitive benefits of learning another language are undeniable. Research shows that learning another language can be extremely beneficial for young learners. Children exposed to a second language have improved memory, enhanced concentration, and better listening skills. They are also better equipped to multitask and problem solve. This is one reason I am so passionate about teaching Spanish to young learners. I strive to accommodate all learners through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities as well as adequate repetition. This is a beginner level course for students with little or no experience speaking Spanish, and I aim to facilitate a fun and comfortable learning environment.
