Welcome to Spanish Class! This ongoing class will meet twice a week. Each class will be a different theme. Students will be encouraged to talk and participate in class to help build vocabulary and oral skills. Teacher will provide activity pages to print out and use during and after class. Students will have the option to complete a craft activity related to weekly theme. We will begin with a Welcome Song. Students are encouraged to share something special on that day (i.e. favorite animal, special celebration, family pet, etc). We will cover the following foundational skills each week: ABCs letters and sounds, vowels, days of the week, counting 1-30 or more, color and shapes, and a short story or song related to theme. Class will include songs and pictures to support learning. We will end our class with a Goodbye Song. Activities provided each week include: - worksheet to help with writing name - activities to work on colors - activities to work on shapes - activities to work on counting 1 to 1 objects - letter of the week - optional craft activity Teacher will also provide homework on SEESAW. This is optional for students that want to continue practicing at home. Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.
