Class Experience

💫 Spanish for Beginners Introduction Class has Part A and Part B 💫

Welcome to my Spanish class for Beginners, My program is designed to provide your student with a solid foundation in the Spanish language and help them achieve fluency.
I use a conversational approach to language learning, which means that my students are encouraged to use the language in context from the very beginning of the course. This approach has been proven to be effective in helping students develop their language skills quickly and naturally.

In a beginner's conversational Spanish class, the main focus is on helping students acquire the basic skills to communicate in Spanish in everyday situations. The goal is for students to begin speaking Spanish from the very first day of class, using simple words and phrases to express their ideas.

I use different techniques to encourage participation and conversation, such as simple question-and-answer sessions, vocabulary games, listening and responding exercises, and role-playing activities. Grammar and vocabulary are presented in a contextualized way, so that students can understand how words and grammatical structures are used in real-life situations.

During the class, we practice lots of pronunciation and intonation, so that students can begin to speak with fluency and confidence. Students are also encouraged to ask questions and clarify doubts, in English so that they can better understand the language.

In this 4 week class, students will learn the basics of the Spanish language with interactive activities and games that will give the students the confidence to begin any Spanish program. We will practice the pronunciation as a group and then I will ask students to repeat the words giving each student individual attention and meeting their level. It will be a bilingual class Spanish/ English, with lots of Spanish emphasis.
Each week there will be a review of the previous vocabulary, an introduction of new vocabulary, and a grammar structure.
The activities and games will also cover previous classes to keep practicing. After each class, students will get a PDF with the vocabulary, audio with the pronunciation, and an exercise to help practice the writing in Spanish. Students can complete the work and upload a picture through the classroom or through their messaging system and I will make corrections and offer feedback.
If a student can not attend a class, the audio and the PDF with vocabulary will provide all the tools to practice the concepts and the pronunciation taught during each class. ( I can also offer other alternatives when I am contacted in advanced)

Since it is a Beginners class, students will be encourage to practice the pronunciation and create sentences using the vocabulary they know, that will help them gain confidence as they will begin to think and speak in Spanish rather than translating.
The routine of the class will be as follow:
1. Greetings
2. Review of vocabulary

5. Students practice
6. Game/ Activity

During my College years, I worked for a language company in Colombia (CIL), I was trained by the owner in a conversational teaching method to teach ESL and Spanish to foreigners. It was a great opportunity to learn hands on how to teach others to communicate in other languages, how to teach children both in English and Spanish and how to be a bridge of knowledge in every subject that I was Certified in. It was such a wonderful experience that I kept working for them for more than 8 years giving me vast training in handling English and Spanish classes, I now use that experience and the fact that I am a native Spanish speaker to share what I know with children and to help them cope with anxiety and stress through mindfulness.
Even though my mayor is in International Business, my passion is working with children and learning along the with them.
