In this course students will expand their basic knowledge in Spanish. This is the second part of Spanish for Beginners 1 course, all beginners students are welcome. Students will develop their communication skills in Spanish. Students will learn important basic vocabulary to communicate in the target language. Powerpoint slides, videos, songs, props, games such as bingo, pictionary, crafts, etc. will be used in class. Students will have assignments weekly to study what they learn in class. Students will broaden their vocabulary and develop their ability to understand new words. Students will have the opportunity to explore the language through games, songs and rhymes and link the spelling sound, and meaning of words in Spanish. Students will learn vocabulary and will introduce their families, students will also name common pets and fruits. Students will engage in conversations and ask and answer questions and will also use the correct use of the verb "tener"(have) when talking about pets. Students will name a range of animals and will ask if someone else have any pet. Students will develop an accurate pronunciation and intonation in the context of Alphabet. Students will ask and explain where things are in the classroom. Students will be able to identify classroom objects, students will also be able to use the word "Dónde" to ask about where objects are and will be able to answer using "Aquí está(n)".Students will use a range of vocabulary to create different sentences by swapping key vocabulary. Students will ask someone else’s name and will use "se llama" to name a person. Students will understand basic grammar including feminine and masculine forms. Students will identify places in schools and will ask question "Dónde estás?; students will also be able to say where they are using "Estoy en..." Students will learn in a fun way. They will get weekly assignments and they will need to record videos as part of their assignment, they can choose to appear in the video or just show pictures in it with their voices. When any doubt arises students are welcome to contact their teacher and she will be happy to help them. Lesson 1: Fruits, May I have..? Making polite requests. Follow a pattern of using grammar in the context of requesting something to eat. Lesson 2: "I like" "Me gusta(n)/No me gusta(a)"for singular en plural nouns. Use determiners: el, la, los, las. Lesson 3: Family; Vocabulary. Possessive determiners. Lesson 4:Family tree craft. Identify Family members, use of "my"("mi, mis"),"Aqui esta(n)".Record your voice or a video where you introduce your family showing pictures or drawings. Lesson 5: Pets. Vocabulary.Verb "tener". Lesson 6: The Alphabet. Pronunciation. Lesson 7: Asking names; review (Lessons 1-6). Introducing someone else, conjugation of "llamarse" on the third singular subject pronoun. Lesson 8:Spelling. Asking and giving spellings using the Spanish Alphabet. Lesson 9: Classroom. Vocabulary about classroom objects, asking and answering where objects are."Aqui esta(n)". Lesson 10:Pencil case; craft. Indefinite articles (un, una). Lesson 11:School, I like, I don't like. (No) Me gusta(n); school subjects. Record your voice or a video where you talk about subjects and food that you like and dislike. Show and name objects in your pencil case. Lesson 12:Places in the school. Review

Supply List
The teacher will send files to print out prior to the class. Pencil, pen, paper. From time to time: scissors, glue, colour pencils, markers. The teacher is authorized to share the files provided to students.

¡Hola a todos! Bonjour tout le monde! Hello everyone!
I am multilingual, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Language Teacher Education and an Early Childhood Education Diploma. I speak Spanish, French, and English. I have also attended the following workshops/trainings in Canada: Science of Early Childhood Development-Play, Science of Early Childhood Development-Language and Literacy, Science of Early Childhood Development-Introductory Level, Transition Planning Intermediate Level, and Adult Education-Intermediate level. I have been teaching French and Spanish languages for over eight years. My students range from toddlers to adults. I have lived and worked in France and Mexico. Currently, I live in Canada.
I offer the following skills: Ability to engage students from a wide range of backgrounds, interactive lesson plans, good interpersonal skills and a passion for languages. I am an active listener and team player. I like to do crafting and science experiments with my family. I also enjoy learning to cook different kind of dishes, lately I have made Asian dishes such as brown rice and eggplant. I like travelling and I have learnt the culture of the languages that I teach where the languages that I speak are the mother tongues.
