This class will be 100% Spanish immersion. I want to encourage students to think and speak in Spanish. This is because I believe an immersion environment is best for language learning. We'll read "Mis Amigos" -- be ready to MOVE with the animals! This is a great book for little ones because each character teaches the narrator a different activity or action. I will read first, then we can read together, and finally, invent our own animal movements. This class will be playful, engaging, and active! We will also sing some songs about animals as time permits.
Learning Goals
Students will practice some nouns and verbs in Spanish. If you'd like to practice before class, these are the characters in the book: el gato, el perro, el mono, el caballo, el gallo, el cocodrilo, la mariposa, el conejo, el búho, el gorila, la hormiga, los pájaros, los libros, los maestros, los amigos.
These are the actions we will act out from the book: caminar, brincar, trepar, correr, marchar, echar una siesta, oler, esconderse, explorar, patear, observar, cantar, leer, estudiar, jugar, amar.
