Students may be required to record their voices speaking in Spanish.Class Experience
Learners with previous knowledge of Spanish are welcome to enroll in this multi-day class. Learners should have an intermediate or advanced level in the Spanish Language. This is a Spanish Immersion class, if needed the teacher will explain in English and learners can speak in English in case they do not know how to express something in Spanish. The teacher will start her class with a warm up activity which can be asking a question or a game to express in the target language. There will be a variety of activities and the focus is to develop the speaking and listening skills as well as learning new vocabulary. We will play games, we will also play roles using the appropriate vocabulary in different situations such as ordering in a restaurant, or being at the doctor's, in addition the teacher will show pictures and ask questions about it. The teacher will also write vocabulary on the board to help learners to broaden their vocabulary, the teacher will start brainstorming to encourage learners participation. Learners will have the opportunity to practice and develop their speaking and listening skills and they will express their opinion about different topics. Learners will learn the correct pronunciation as the teacher will model it. Learners will be exposed to different topics and they will use different tenses when speaking. The teacher will send files to print out, learners will be encouraged to practice their social skills, learners will interview their classmates using the correct grammar asking questions in different tenses and they will also talk about their peers using the appropriate personal pronouns which could be masculine or feminine. In one class learners will use past tenses to say what they did the previous day using regular and irregular verbs. I am multilingual, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Language Teacher Education and an Early Childhood Education Diploma. I speak Spanish, French, and English. I have also attended the following workshops/trainings in Canada: Science of Early Childhood Development-Play, Science of Early Childhood Development-Language and Literacy, Science of Early Childhood Development-Introductory Level, Transition Planning Intermediate Level, and Adult Education-Intermediate level. I have been teaching French and Spanish languages for over eight years. My students range from toddlers to adults. I have lived and worked in France and Mexico. Currently, I live in Canada.
I offer the following skills: Ability to engage students from a wide range of backgrounds, interactive lesson plans, good interpersonal skills and a passion for languages. I am an active listener and team player. I like to do crafting and science experiments with my family. I also enjoy learning to cook different kind of dishes, lately I have made Asian dishes such as brown rice and eggplant. I like travelling and I have learnt the culture of the languages that I teach where the languages that I speak are the mother tongues.
