Intermediate - Advanced Level
In this 6-week Spanish class, students will learn how to conjugate verbs in Spanish in the simple present (indefinite) and simple past tenses (preterite). In order to master these skills, students will receive a video that teaches the rules for each tense with examples, along with activities and assignments in different formats. Learners will complete fill in the blanks tasks, make sentences and practice writing based on reading comprehension. Furthermore, they will also have the option to engage in activities on Nearpod and Quizzlet, for additional practice. Constant personalized feedback and help will be given throughout the course.
Learning Goals
By the end of this Spanish class, students will know how to conjugate verbs in the present and preterite tenses, demonstrating understanding of verb endings and patterns. They will be able to make sentences, using varied subject pronouns and verb forms.

The Simple Present Tense - Regular Verbs
In this lesson, students will learn the rules of regular verb conjugation in indefinite, which refers to the simple present tense. They will understand different verb-ending patterns and apply them by engaging in several practice exercises.

Lesson 2:
The Simple Present Tense - Irregular verbs 1
In this lesson, students will learn how to conjugate the irregular verbs "ser", "estar" (to be), "tener" (to have) and "ir" (to go).
Lesson 3:
The Simple Present Tense - Irregular verbs 2
This lesson will focus on stem-changing and spell-changing verbs. Students will learn how to apply these rules in different groups of irregular verbs.

The Preterite Tense - Regular Verbs
In this lesson, students will start learning how to conjugate verbs in the simple past tense (preterite). They will learn how to modify the regular verbs, by following two sets of different rules.

In this class, students will have the option to engage in exercises for additional practice, using the websites Nearpod and Quizlet, which are approved third-party resources. They don't need to have an account or enter any personal information; a code will be sent for them to access the activities.

I am a certified educator in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and a native speaker from Colombia. I have been working with children since 2003 and joined Outschool in April 2020; it has been a very rewarding and fulfilling adventure!
I have experience in teaching and tutoring all levels in Spanish, English and math. I have also worked as a program coordinator in the nonprofit sector, where I designed and developed several courses and classes for after school programs and summer camps for ages 6 - 18 years.
My goal as an educator, is to provide a rewarding and immersive learning journey, and to foster an inclusive educational environment where students feel motivated and supported along the way.
