In this ongoing class, we'll meet once a week for Spanish Circle Time. We will learn key vocabulary related to Fall, numbers 1-10, colors & shapes, days of the week, and learn to say and hear the vowel sounds.

Welcome to Awesome Otoño! This class will meet once a week for five weeks, and each week we will learn and apply a different preschool skill while building our vocabulary in the target language related to our theme. Students will be encouraged to interact with the teacher and each other, both verbally and nonverbally, to help build their speaking and comprehension of the target language. Each class will begin with a greeting and the days of the week. In addition, we will focus on specific preschool skills from week to week, which will be incorporated into a story and interactive games: Week of 10/27/21: Colores (Colors) Week of 11/3/21: Números (Numbers) Week of 11/10/21: Formas (Shapes) Week of 11/17/21: Patrones (Patterns) Each class will end with review of the skill focus for that week and a goodbye song. We will provide vocabulary flash cards and number cards to reference and use throughout the course for additional practice. Each week we will also provide an interactive book in Spanish for students to complete with parent support. All items will be available to download and print. We will circle back around to the above preschool skills every 4-5 weeks, but the overarching theme will change based on the season and/or time of year. This will allow students the opportunity to master basic concepts in the target language, while offering novelty and variety as they build their language vocabulary in a way that is relevant to the world around them.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the following fall vocabulary words in Spanish:
hoja
ardilla
calabaza
árbol
manzana
bellota
búho
pavo
espantapájaros
ganso
elote
Students will also learn to to extend simple patterns (i.e. AB, ABB, etc.) and identify the sound of the vowels in Spanish.

At Angelitos, we provide a multi-sensory learning experience intended to foster a love of learning, develop creative & independent thinkers, and instill a strong character; all while immersed in a Spanish-language environment!
We are a small, non-profit preschool program based in Northern Virginia offering both in person and virtual classes that provide our students with the opportunity to learn and practice necessary preschool concepts in the target language. In addition, each of our programs follows a unique curriculum created and designed by our Preschool Directors. For our online community, we offer both partial and full immersion classes and Spanish Circle Time events to children age 3-5 years old.
We have three amazing teachers who, in addition to both bachelor's and master's degrees in education, boast a combined 20+ years of experience teaching in dual language and preschool programs in public and private schools in the US and abroad, and extensive experience educating their own children (10 between them!) in both English and Spanish.
As a Spanish Immersion preschool and nonprofit organization, our mission is to make bilingual learning accessible to all children, regardless of their language background or socioeconomic status.
