During this course, learners will read the Spanish novel: Tumba by Mira Canion. All classes will be taught completely in Spanish unless a student needs some extra guidance. Week 1: The first week's class will be an introduction to the novel and introductions to each other. We will read and discuss the author's note and we will read Chapter 1 "Nervioso" together. We will also discuss the setting and the main characters as well as answer comprehension questions. Week 2: Read Chapter 2 "Poema"...
Learners will improve upon their Spanish fluency and comprehension through reading.
Learners will read 1 chapter each week (roughly 3 pages).

In class assessment through discussion, writing prompts and a worksheet.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This story talks about spirits and day of the dead celebrations. Day of the Dead is a celebration of life for people that have passed on. Additionally, Day of the Dead is a blend of Aztec and Catholic beliefs. The book will be taught in a secular and historical manner.
