1-2 hours per week. Students will be required to read the assigned chapter before each session.Class Experience
In this class, that will meet over a period of 4 weeks, students will be reading beforehand and discussing among each other the book "Diario de Greg, La ley de Rodrick". The goal for this class, is for students to develop conversation and reading comprehension skills in Spanish, while reading an entertaining book. This is a small class; therefore, students will be actively speaking during each session. You can buy the book on Amazon; I have also listed on the sources section, other sites where the book can be purchased. Schedule: Week 1: Read the chapter "Septiembre" before class. The first week, we will learn more about the author, discuss the first chapter and the character traits of the main characters. Week 2: Students are required to read before class the chapter "Octubre". Once we meet, we will discuss vocabulary, as this series use many slang words, followed by the chapter analysis. During the last 15 minutes, the students will play a reading comprehension game on nearpod.com Week 3: Students are required to read before class "Noviembre". During the session, we will address any vocabulary questions, discuss the chapter and the different ideas students have about how the story is developing, along with its characters. The last part of the session, is design for students to participate in doing different reading comprehension activities. They will do a fill in the blank and a matching exercise with the book characters, and a multiple choice activity while racing in a climbing game using an avatar. Week 4: Students are required to finish the book before class. We will go over vocabulary questions, discuss all chapters and themes; we will also talk about the parts of the book that were the most important for each student, do a writing exercise and finish the class with a reading comprehension game on nearpod.com. Everyone is welcome to post any comments or questions regarding their thoughts about the book, reading comprehension or vocabulary; this can be done on the classroom board between classes. I will also be posting regularly writing activities and questions for discussion, along with a vocabulary list for each chapter.
Learning Goals
Students will learn Spanish vocabulary and grammar, as they will be reading extensively. They will also improve the conversational skills and develop critical thinking by discussing the book and giving their own opinions about it.

Parental Guidance
Students will use as external resource the website nearpod.com, in order to complete reading comprehension activities.
They do not not need to have an account, I will provide a code that will be valid only during the session on that specific day.
