During 4 weeks, the students will read the Book "La ley de Rodrick", the Spanish name for "Rodrick Rules". It is the second book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series written by Jeff Kinney.
Class experience
In this class, that will meet over a period of 4 weeks, students will be reading beforehand and discussing among each other the book "Diario de Greg, La ley de Rodrick". The goal for this class, is for students to develop conversation and reading comprehension skills in Spanish, while reading an entertaining book. This class is taught in Spanish.
Students will learn Spanish vocabulary and grammar, as they will be reading extensively. They will also improve the conversational skills and develop critical thinking by discussing the book and giving their own opinions about it.
I am a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, who has been teaching Spanish for over 10 years; I have also conducted several book clubs over this time period. My experience in this field, has led me to design and implement effective discussions that help readers stay engaged during our sessions and develop reading comprehension skills, along with independent and critical thinking.
