In this book club, students will read and discuss over a 3-week period the Book "Diario de Greg, Un Renacuajo" (Diary of a Wimpy Kid).
They will engage in fun activities related to the book, while also becoming more fluent in Spanish.

Intermediate - Advanced Level
During this class, which will meet over a period of 3 weeks, students will be reading beforehand and discussing among each other the book "Diario de Greg, Un Renacuajo". The goal for this class, is for students to develop reading comprehension skills in Spanish, while reading a very entertaining book that also helps them expand vocabulary and improve conversational skills. This is a small class; therefore, students will be actively speaking during each session. You can buy the book on Amazon; I have also listed on the sources section, other sites where the book can be purchased. Students will receive a vocabulary guide, with questions about each assigned chapter. This will be send before each session, in order to help them with comprehension while reading on their own. They are also encouraged to post any questions for discussion in the classroom page and reach out if they need any help. Learning Goals
Students will learn Spanish vocabulary and grammar, as they will be reading extensively. They will also improve the conversational skills and develop critical thinking by discussing the book and giving their own opinions about it.

3 Lessons
over 3 WeeksLesson 1:
"Septiembre - Noviembre"
Students are required to read the chapters "Septiembre" - "Noviembre" before the session. The first week, we will learn more about the author and answer any vocabulary questions. We will then procede to discuss the first 3 chapters and the personality traits of the main characters. We will finish the class with a reading comprehension activity. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
"Diciembre - Febrero"
Students are required to read the chapters "Diciembre" - "Febrero" before we meet. During our session, we will discuss vocabulary and each chapter, along with character development. We will go over the situations the main character finds himself in and talk about if we would have done something different. During the last part of the class, the students will participate in a reading comprehension activity using nearpod.com 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
"Marzo" - "Junio"
Students are required to finish the book before class. After discussing the chapters, they will talk about their favorite parts and how the main characters if any, changed by the end of the book. We will finish the session, by having the students participate in different reading comprehension games, using nearpod.com. 45 mins online live lesson
