Description
Class Experience
I received a minor in the Spanish language with my bachelor degree in English (2011). Later, I went on to complete the seven-week level 5 Spanish course at Roca Blanca Spanish School in Catalotepec, Mexico (2018). I have taught group Spanish classes to a variety of ages over five years, four years of which were online. Additionally, I have been raising my children primarily in Spanish since 2016.
Before each class meeting, students will need to read (or have read to them) the book for that week. The books are short picture books that may take five to ten minutes to read.
Students will need the books by Ginger Foglesong Guy for the corresponding weeks they choose to attend (These books are available from many online and local booksellers, as well as available at many libraries): Week of May 2 - Week 1 - "Siesta" Week of May 9 - Week 2 - "Fiesta" Week of May 16 - Week 3 - "¡Perros! ¡Perros!/Dogs! Dogs!" Week of May 23 - Week 4 - "My Grandma/Mi abuelita" Week of May 30 - Week 5 - "Bravo"
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Each week we will discuss a different picture book by Ginger Foglesong Guy of which each student is expected to have their own copy. We will not read the book together in class.
