In this class students will learn the basics of the Spanish language. During the first weeks of classes students will learn basic vocabulary, the alphabet, and the numbers. As the course advances students will learn some basic grammar concepts along with new vocabulary. The interaction with students will be in the form of simple questions and repetition of words. To help students visualize and remember what they are learning a power point presentation will be used in the class. 1st Class: The Alphabet In this class students will learn the pronunciation of the Spanish alphabet with the use of visual examples such us pictures. 2nd Class: The Numbers In this class students will learn the numbers in Spanish from 1 to 50. 3rd Class: The House We will go over the name of things found around the house like puerta (door), ventana (window) etc. 4th Class: The Family Students will learn basic words like hermano (brother), primo (cousin), tio (uncle) etc. 5th Class: Colors, Plants and Animals. In this class students will learn the colors like verde (green) by relating the name to an animal like loro (parrot) or to a plant. 6th Class: Review In this class students will review the most relevant points learned. This is a beginners class for this reason, it is not necessary to have previous knowledge of the language. Students are encouraged to take notes and follow the class explanation with the PowerPoint presentation.

My name is Miss Pat and I live in the sunshine state Florida. I will be teaching Spanish. I am a native Spanish speaker and, I have been teaching Spanish to kids for the past three years. I realized I liked to teach since I was very young when i worked as a substitute teacher for a short time in my original country. I believe learning should be fun and I try to apply that philosophy to my classes. I also believe each kid is unique and learn in their own way.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Florida International University and I love to teach.
When I am not teaching, I like to go out with my family and i like to watch movies.
