This is a self-paced class that meets that has four videos, so you can watch one lesson per week for four weeks. Class Syllabus: Week 1- Spanish Alphabet Week 2 - Review the Spanish Alphabet, Learn Numbers 1 to 10 in Spanish Week 3 - Review Numbers in Spanish Week 4 -Days of the week in Spanish I incorporate singing and chants to learn the alphabet and days of the week so students can retain the language. I also teach the following phrases and sentences so students learn the information in context: What day is today? What day is it tomorrow? Today is _____. Tomorrow is _______. I will share the screen on video (videos are pre-recorded) so students can follow along with each lesson. I have a presentation I use from Google Slides that you'll see on the screen. You don't need to have a google account since it's all recorded for you. For the alphabet lesson, we'll discuss the amount of letters in the alphabet and some interesting facts about the Spanish alphabet. We'll discuss some of the old letters and why they removed them. We'll learn the old letters (ch, ll) in the song I teach. We will also discuss rolling your R's and tips for learning how to do that. I will go through each letter. We practice saying each letter two times and we discuss the pronunciation of the letters. I also have students practice saying some words with certain letters that have more than one pronunciation. For example: Gato (cat) and Gigante (giant) have two different sounds for the letter G. Gato (Gah-toe) and Gigante (he-gan-tay). I share how you know when to use each letter sound. I will teach the tune of a song to learn the alphabet. We'll go through letters A-F and learn that section of the song, then G-K, L-P, Q-T and U-Z. I divide the alphabet into sections to make it easier to learn. On week two we review the alphabet, then we learn numbers and practice spelling the numbers so we can hear the letters in a new context. It's important to learn the letters out of order, so we'll practice letter recognition as well. On week three we'll review numbers and practice counting with frogs. In the last video we'll learn days of the week. First you'll write down the words, then we'll learn a chant to memorize the days of the week. We will also do a spelling activity where I'll spell a day of the week and you have to guess which one I'm spelling. Then we'll learn how to ask what day it is today/tomorrow. I simulate a live class, so I will ask students questions and they will answer as if it were a live class. If you have any questions about this class don't hesitate to reach out.
