Each bi- week will end with a Quiz on what was taught. Quizzes may be written, oral, or through review. There will be a mid- course assessment and a course comprehension assessment to see students' comprehension of the subject . When the quizzes are assigned are subject to change.Class Experience
This is a self made curriculum that will focus on the following. A workbook will be provided!* This class will be taught in English and Spanish. This is the second of two classes of it's type. This is the continuation from Spanish 2 Semester 1- Grammar/Conversation. We will be using a discussion style class as well as the websites listed. Each student will also receive a copy of a story that will be discussed in class. In the 11 weeks we will learn the following COURSE TOPICS: In Semester 2 we will: - Read a story together using all of the tenses that we have learned so far. ( working on fluency) - Have in-class discussions and written summaries about the story. (show your comprehension of the language) - Learn about Spanish connectives to help make your sentences flow better while talking. ( grammar points) Weeks 1&2 Vocabulary Introduction/ Guidelines for project Lecture: Simple connectives- Chapter 1 of Story Interactive Activities: Group discussions, Write-up on jobs Bi- Weekly Quiz Weeks 3&4 Vocabulary Introduction Lecture: Connecting Word- Using connecting words to help with ordering and adding ideas- Chapter 2 of Story Chapter 3 of Story Interactive Activities: Group discussions, Write-up on ideas Bi-Weekly Quiz Weeks 5&6 Chapter 4 of Story Lecture: Connecting Words- Using connecting words to help explain and illustrate; Chapter 5 of Story Mid- course review and assessment * From weeks 1-5 Weeks 7&8 Lecture: Chapter 6 of Story Lecture: Connecting Words- Using connecting words to help compare and contrast ideas; Chapter 7 of Story Weeks 9&10 Using Grammar points in stories and conversations Lecture: Chapter 8 of Story Lecture: Connecting Words- Using connecting words to show a result, emphasize and sum up ideas; Chapter 9 of Story Interactive Activities- In-class Assignment Bi- Weekly Quiz Week 11 Chapter 10 of story Project Presentation Review of materials learned in the course and complete COMPREHENSION ASSESSMENT All students are required to complete a course project and it is recommended that students work on their course projects each week. The final project will be due at the end of the course. Submit Final Course Project This course in conjunction with Semester 1 can count for a FULL year of Spanish 2 if needed for High School Credit. Please advise me in a timely manner if transcript information, like grades, will need to be released to you at the end of the course.
