This is a self made curriculum that will focus on the following. A workbook will be provided!* This class will be taught in English and Spanish. This is the first of two classes of it's type. This is to be coupled with Spanish 2 Semester 2- Grammar/Conversation Since this course is FLEX please be prepared to do video/ audio recordings for certain task that will require heavier participation. We will be using a discussion board as well as the websites Blooket, Kahoot and Flipgrid weekly. In the 10 weeks we will learn the following COURSE TOPICS: Weeks 1&2 Vocabulary Introduction/ Guidelines for project Lecture: Preterit, directional prepositions Lecture: Community- Places in a community, inside stores, in the street, direct and indirect objects pronouns Interactive Activities: Group discussions, Write-up on community places with past tense Bi- Weekly Quiz Weeks 3&4 Vocabulary Introduction Lecture: Traveling- How to express going on trips and vacations Lecture: Imperfect Interactive Activities: Write up on past vacations Bi-Weekly Quiz Weeks 5&6 Lecture: Preterit and Imperfect Review with Double Object Pronouns Mid- course review and assessment * From weeks 1-5 Weeks 7&8 Lecture: Past Perfect Tense Lecture: Commands- The Body: Expressing pain, Reflexive verbs, saber and conocer, por and para Weeks 9&10 Using Grammar points in stories and conversations Lecture: Subjunctive present tense formation, subjunctive with expressions of emotions (part 1) Interactive Activities- In-class Assignment Review and go over any missed concepts or those with more review required Project Presentation** Review of materials learned in the course and complete COMPREHENSION ASSESSMENT All students are required to complete a course project and it is recommended that students work on their course projects each week. The final project will be due at the end of the course. Submit Final Course Project This course in conjunction with Semester 2 can count for a FULL year of Spanish 2 if needed for High School Credit. Please advise me in a timely manner if transcript information, like grades, will need to be released to you at the end of the course.

I have a BA degree in Spanish from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I have lived in Mexico while attending an exchange program while in college. I taught Spanish to Preschool, Elementary, Middle and Highschool students for over 12 years.
