Learners will learn how to compose and comprehend complete sentences in Spanish from day one. We utilize a story telling approach to ensure that learners can not only apply vocabulary to short sentences, but also read and write fluently in Spanish. Props, drawings, flashcards, word banks, and workbooks are used on a regular basis. The video portion of the class will focus on the story of the week as well as review of the homework and practiced vocabulary. Students are required to purchase and complete weekly assignments from My Daily Spanish- Spanish Workbook for Middle School and High School Students which correlates to current state standards. We use some stories from the Cuentame Mas TPRS Curriculum for level 1 Spanish. I have obtained permission to teach these stories in class. Students who complete all of the homework assignments are eligible to receive a grade for this class. I will provide a certificate of completion upon request. Students who take Part 2 in the Winter/Spring can be eligible for a full 1 credit Spanish certificate. Those who complete one semester with a passing score will be eligible for a .5 credit.
