Class Experience
The modern-day Space Race is upon us and what better way to prepare the potential Space Travelers, Explorers, and Workers of tomorrow than by introducing them to the Mysterious side of the Space around us! This class is arranged to be a fantastic introduction for beginner space learners, and has all the astounding details to challenge seasoned Space Fans as well! Students will be able to identify Planet Venus, along with its size; location; structure; identifiable details (such as craters, atmosphere, color, etc.); human space exploration to this planet; fun facts about Planet Venus; as well as the numerous mysteries we have uncovered.
I have always had a love of space, from the moment my grandpa, an amateur astronomer, let me look through the 10-foot telescope he built all by himself, to watching shuttles & satellites lift into the sky, and watching some fall back to the earth. I have spotted some of the largest dust storms to hit Mars, and have enjoyed looking at the various craters on our Moon and seeing the rings around Saturn, all from my own backyard in Missouri & while using other telescopes my grandpa and I have built together. I have never ceased my exploration and search, looking to the skies to watch for eclipses, comets, and so much more! My love of all things Space has only increased with time, and I feel it is the next great wave of the future! As a teacher with a Master’s Degree in Teaching & over 30 years of experience working with children of various ages, and more than 6 years teaching students about Space, as well as other Science-related subject-matter, I love sharing my knowledge with the next generation. My hope is to instill the awe-inspiring beauty the Unknown Universe holds, as well as encourage students to dream and believe! I hope to see you in class as we explore the Universe together!
There is no homework for this course, however, teacher will add additional videos, flyers, color pages, notes, and more after the class in the Outschool classroom for those students who truly want to learn more.
Any learning materials needed will be available for download in the Outschool classroom.

There is no formal assessment for this course, however, the teacher will utilize a variety of methods to determine that learning has occurred, including: interactive questions, in-class review, and other fun, interactive discussion, and activities. After class, a Review Game will be available for students to test their knowledge.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Learners will need their cameras turned on for this class. Parents may need to assist their child in learning how to "mute & unmute" themselves, as teacher will mute students at times during the "teaching" portion of our class & then ask them to "unmute" to answer questions, discuss mysteries, & interact with the other learners during the interactive, conversational, and review portion of our class. This allows each learner the opportunity to hear what is taught, while still allowing for questions, interaction and such. *YouTube video clips will be shown at times during our class to allow learners to visualize the topics being covered. The links to these videos will be available & posted after the class for parents & learners to view/review as desired. *There will be a review game available for learners which will be either a link to Baamboozle and/or Quizlet. If time is available during class, the review game may be played on screen as a group; however, the link for the review game will be shared in the Outschool Classroom as well. No account is required for learners to play the game.
