Class Experience
In this flexible class we will investigate music and musicians inspired by outer space, the planets, the stars and the unknown. Week 1 - Inspiration and The Planets by Gustav Holst Week 2 - David Bowie, Stockhausen and other musicians influenced by Space and Astronomy Week 3 - John Williams and movie music! Week 4 - Create your own space music. We will follow the following schedule: Monday - Class Video Day! Sonya will post a video class about a specific musician or a specific piece of...
Sonya is a music educator, singer and composer with a vast knowledge of repertoire in many genres. She grew up in a music family (her father was a world-renowned composer and conductor) and therefore as well as a BMus, MA and multiple postgraduate diplomas, she has knowledge and experience of music and the music industry from an insiders perspective.
Paper, pencils, markers in various colors.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be informally assessed with written or video/audio feedback.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
