In this comprehensive 8 week science class students will learn the principles that shape our solar system and the universe at large. We'll talk about the formation of the planets, the importance of an atmosphere, and explore all the stages in a solar systems life cycle. Exploring the physics, geology, and natural forces that shape the known universe, students will be introduced to concepts of mass and matter. Student will learn: -the basic structures found in our solar system, the galaxy, & the universe -the geology of earth and other rocky planets & structures of gaseous and icy planets in the solar system -history of the earths geology & formation -basic principles and theories in physics such as Newton's laws and Einstein's theories of relativity
I have a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science & Policy, and a Minor in Geology from Florida State University.
Students will be asked to complete unit projects in thier own time. Each project is designed to be completed in less than an hours time.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner project is assessed with each project submission. Each student will receive feedback for the work they do and provided with further questions or resources for learning.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
