Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
🧑‍🚀👨‍🚀👩‍🚀🚀Space Camp is a fun interactive class where students go on pretend missions, create space-themed crafts, and play fun games. Students will learn about the moon, its phases, the sun, star formation, black holes, constellations, and space objects such as asteroids, comets, meteors, and Mars.

🌜In lesson 1, students journey to the moon to explore its orbit and gravity and learn extraordinary facts. For example, did you know that there are moonquakes? The moon has layers, just like the Earth.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕In lesson 2, we will learn about the moon's phases while making models out of Oreos. At the end of the lesson, students will play a fun game. They can use their models for help.

✨In lesson 3, students journey through the universe to see how stars form from nebulas. They will see two life cycles for stars; one can end by creating a black hole.

🌃In lesson 4, we will study constellations and create three using mini marshmallows, pretzels, or toothpicks. We will explore what a constellation is and the stories that surround them.

☄️🌌In lesson 5, students journey through the solar systems to discover the asteroid belt, dwarf planets, comets, the Ort Cloud, and meteors. Students learn the similarities and differences between the objects that share our solar system.

Learning Goals

Students will learn about the Moon, satellites manufactured/natural, the Moon's phases, Earth's and Moon's orbit, gravity, star formation, star life cycles, black holes, constellations, asteroids, comets, and the Ort Cloud, meteors, and more.

The main goal is to spark interest in learning and the importance of understanding outer space.
