Description

Class Experience

In this flex class, learners will learn the basics of what an astronaut does for a living, how they prepare for their missions and what life is like during their journey in space.  Your learner will also gain knowledge on our solar system and learn fascinating facts about outer-space.  Astronauts from around the world will be introduced in a slide show presentation and/or video clip.  No prior knowledge is needed. State certified public school teacher.  I have been fascinated with space exploration an outer-space and have taught about this for nearly a decade in public schools and online.  I have taught about the solar system on Outschool as well.  I have been to NASA and saw space shuttles and rockets take-off in person.  I have gone to museums and planetariums which increased my knowledge.  As a state certified teacher I have been required to teach this subject and always do research beyond the textbooks the school provides.  My science teacher in middle school was the first runner up to the space shuttle challenger.  She was next in line to be the first teacher in space.  I watch the challenger disaster as it happened as I sat in a classroom and ever since that I have taken the time to get to know more about astronauts around the world.
