US Grade 2 - 5
The solar system is one of my favorite things to talk about, especially with children! In this class, we will cover the more familiar parts of outer space, like the sun and Earth. We will also discuss the other 7 big planets, as well as the planet previously up for debate- Pluto. Students can expect a conversational style class with plenty of open discussion about all things space related. This class will be dialogue based, as I want all students to feel comfortable interacting with me and each other. I will provide a power point as well, so they can see what the planets look like up close and personal. I hope this adventure into our wonderful solar system creates a lifetime of space exploration for these students. Blast off with me!
Learning Goals
The main goal of this class is to launch a lifetime of space exploration for these students. Students will expand their knowledge of the center of Earth's solar system (the sun), explore the eight big planets, and the planet that was previously downgraded to dwarf planet status (Pluto). They will learn fun facts about each planet throughout the lesson as well.
