25 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this weekly ongoing class students will have a chance to learn about one new part of space and then discuss and interact with their peers about what they've learned. This class has several goals. The first is to create a welcoming and engaging environment where students can practice sharing and interacting with each other in respectful and meaningful ways. The second is to teach students about space. Each week I will teach a lesson on a different part of space. The third is to inspire curiosity and create lifelong learners. The most important thing I can teach your child is to wonder and question the universe they're living in! Bring a blank piece of paper and colored pencils! If we have time you'll get to use the information you've learned to create a piece of our solar system! Week One August 23 - The Sun Week Two August 30 - Venus Week Three September 6 - Mercury Week Four September 13 - Earth Week Five September 20 - Mars Week Six September 27 - Jupiter Week Seven October 4 - Saturn Week Eight October 11 - Uranus Week Nine October 18 - Neptune Week Ten October 25 - Moons and Dwarf Planets

Teacher expertise and credentials
Arizona Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University
Hello families! I’m Amanda and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach your learner! I love everything about education and feel consider being a teacher as part of who I am. It is my passion!
I have a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education, two active teaching licenses in Arizona and reading and ESL endorsements. I've been teaching since 2017 and I'm working towards a master's in child and adolescent development.
My goal as your learner’s teacher is to inspire them to be lifelong learners. Learning is scary and requires a lot of vulnerability to take chances knowing you could make a mistake. I pride myself on helping students feel safe, confident, and secure in themselves. I’ve always seen tremendous growth in students when they are in an environment that allows for them to safely make mistakes and learn from them.
I’m looking forward to meeting your learner and joining them in their educational journey!
