Did you know that science is involved in making many of the products we use for self-care (makeup, bubble bath, nail polish, etc.)? Scientists have to know how different ingredients work together to make a product that does its job well. It is all a part of cosmetics chemistry!💅💄 In this class, we will get to practice this type of science and we will get to practice self-care! It's a win-win! 👏 Each week, we will make one project and learn about why and how the ingredients work together. This class is great for learners who want to expand their view of who is a scientist, like to do hands on projects, enjoy a little TLC and like to have fun! Each week, we will: 1. Introduce ourselves with a silly ice breaker question.🙋♀️🙋♂️ 2. Introduce that week's project, going over the ingredients and hypothesizing the purpose of each ingredient.📃 3. Making our project!🧪 4. Leave class ready to enjoy a little self-care!💖 And now, the schedule of activities: Week of January 8: Mermaid Bath Bomb Week of January 15: DIY Perfume Week of January 22: Kool-aid Lip Balm Week of January 29: Bath Time Play-doh Week of February 5: Unicorn Fizzy Bath Salts Week of February 12: Yogurt Facial Mask Week of February 19: Peppermint Foot Scrub Week of February 26: Cotton Candy Lip Scrub Week of March 4: Bubble Gum Sprinkles Bath Bomb This class does require supplies in order to complete the project. Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a love for all things beauty related. And I enjoy finding ways of making something special to enjoy rather than having to go spend the money in the stores. Through my own learning, I have developed an interest in understanding ingredients and their benefits.
