Arts

This course helps teens market their photography and build a strong online brand. Students will create a website, design social media profiles, and polish their portfolio to prepare for professional opportunities.

Ready to market your photography? In this class, you’ll design a website, create a social media presence, and polish your portfolio to attract clients and show off your work like a pro.

Students will have an introduction to branding and will research laws in their local areas to ensure they will operate their businesses legally.

Intro to marketing & branding 

Students will learn about business messaging and positioning. 
Learners will work on their business or brand's story and develop a short elevator pitch. 

Brand story 

Learners will work on branding decisions such as business names, colors, fonts, etc. & create a one page brand sheet.

Branding board 

Students will choose their best images that may be used for website and advertising. 

Portfolio images 

Students will learn about several free and paid options for building their websites & begin to build their own websites including a portfolio of their work so far. 

Creating a website 

Students will continue to work on and refine their website or portfolio - seeking feedback from others. 

Website/portfolio 

Business round up week - Students will spend this week working on anything they need to complete. 
This could be more work on the website, photography, editing, or ensuring they are prepared to run a legal photography business. 

Business round-up  

Students will learn about their options for marketing their businesses online and will discuss both which ones they are most familiar with as well as which ones are most used by their target client. 
They will begin to decide which social media channels will be used to advertise. Students will create their pages and profiles on social media. 

Setting up social media 

Students will begin posting on their social media pages/profiles. 
The class will learn how to increase engagement and followers for their pages and link them to their websites or other social media pages. 

Creating engagement 

Students will continue to develop the online presence for their businesses. 
We will practice engaging with a potential lead via email in a fun activity. 
We will finish up this class by sharing ideas for social media posts.

Photography 2: Intermediate Photography! Ages 12-17

In this six week course, we'll cover various subjects including camera basics, composition, shutter speed, aperture, iso, and white balance.

Digital Photography for Beginners

Explore how to use shutter speed, aperture, and ISO in order to make creative choices and take more compelling photos. Work 1:1 to go in-depth into the science and art of manual photography!
