South East Asian Snack Class: Banana Ball Fritters (Jemput-Jemput Pisang)
In this one-time course, students will learn to make jemput-jemput pisang, i.e. banana ball fritters, a delicious snack that has its origins in Indonesia but eaten in parts of South East Asia such as Malaysia and Singapore too.

Description
Class Experience
Students will be shown the map of the world and then pinpoint South East Asia (S E Asia) on the map. We will then locate Indonesia on the S E Asia map. Thereafter, we will locate Malaysia and Singapore on the map as well. Students will be shown the flag of Indonesia. Jemput-jemput pisang has its origins in Indonesia but is widely made and eaten in Malaysia and Singapore too. We will discuss the meaning of the words [jemput-jemput pisang] which is both in Bahasa Indonesia and Malay...
Students will follow step by step instructions to make a South East Asian snack, jemput-jemput pisang.
None unless student wants to make the snack again then he/she just needs to follow recipe.
All purpose flour, 2-3 ripe bananas, salt, sugar, water, oil, and pot or wok for deep frying.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be in the kitchen and the banana balls need to be deep fried in oil so parental supervision is a MUST!
