The region of South Asia has a rich array of different forms of art. From paintings to architecture to textiles, there are a lot of art forms to appreciate from this part of the world!

In this 4-week class, learners ages 8-11 will have the opportunity to learn about some of these art forms. The first half of class will be spent learning about an art form's history and taking a look at some examples. The second half of class will allow learners to draw or paint their own takes on the particular art form. Towards the end of class, anyone who would like to share their work may do so. 

The following topics will be covered in each class. Families and learners are also welcome to make their own suggestions about art forms they would like to study:

 - Week 1: Truck Art and South Asian Ceramics
 - Week 2: Kantha Fashion and South Asian Jewelry (Women's Earrings, Men's Kurta Buttons, etc)
 - Week 3: Mughal Architecture
 - Week 4: Animal Paintings of Jamini Roy

At select times during the year, this class may be offered as a 4-day camp during the week. For example, the class may be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in one week. Please check the dates for each section you sign up for. I look forward to having your learner in class!
