Description

Class Experience

The learners will be able to find each of the countries discussed on a map of South America. They will also be able to speak about the people who live in each of those countries, including being able to name the correct language(s) spoken there. The learners will also be able to speak a bit about the history of the region.
I graduated from college in 2002 with a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology, my minor was in Spanish and Latin American, Latino And Caribbean Studies (LALACS). I'm used to working with children of all ages as well as their families. I'm also working with people of diverse backgrounds. I believe that Children have an innate love for knowledge. I believe that it is our jobs as adults to guide them according to their interests. We need to make the experience fun and meaningful. I spent my childhood in Paraguay, South America speaking only Spanish. I learned English as a twelve year old girl who had just relocated to the US
Write one paragraph explaining their favorite and least favorite thing they learned about each country and post in the classroom area.
Some way to take notes, access to a device that will allow them to play blooket trivia games while still being in ZOOM, optional Printer to prind .PDF files.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
information provided by National Geographic Society, the CIA Worldbook, and the Tourism Ministry of each country studied.
