Students will leave the class with a deeper understanding of harmony, melody, and lyrics, as well as being able to recognize song forms. 
Students will be encouraged to continue finding inspiration and writing songs as well as continue with suggested listening of songwriters.

Our lessons provide a supportive, creative space for students to discover the joy of making music. Whether you're new to the instrument or continuing your studies, our goal is to foster your love of music through tailored instruction and a strengths-based approach.

My Fun & Effective Approach to Guitar Lessons!

Hi everyone! My name is Matthew, and my teaching philosophy is built around the idea that music should be fun and engaging.  I firmly believe that anyone can learn music, regardless of background or experience. Here's how I make that happen:

👉 Focus on Fun: Learning an instrument should feel like joyful exploration, not a chore. I tailor lessons to your interests, using songs and styles you love to keep you motivated.

👉 Play what you want to play: Forget rigid programs! I use your favorite songs and styles as a foundation for building skills and understanding music theory.

👉 Develop strong technique: While we're having fun, I'll also ensure you learn proper technique and build a solid foundation for future growth.

This approach, honed through my own experience, has helped countless students of all ages discover their musical potential.

Qualifications & Experience

My passion for music goes beyond teaching. I've been playing guitar since I was 5, starting with classical lessons and transitioning to electric guitar at 8. This journey led me to achieve Grade 8 in the RTG London College of Music exams.  My musical exploration extends to vocals as well, having trained with the Palestrina Choir and the Belvedere College choir, both of which performed on Ireland's national broadcaster RTE and prestigious venues like the National Concert Hall and the Olympia Theatre.

My diverse musical background combined with a passion for making learning fun allows me to create a well-rounded and engaging learning experience for my students.  So, are you ready to unlock the joy of music? Let's get started!
