In this songwriting lab. I cover the basics of songwriting. The students will be able to identify their personal writing style. What inspires their songwriting creatively, identifying the parts of a song, lastly they will practice writing.

In this class, the students will like songwriting/technique, Genre influence, the parts of a song, and lastly we practice writing songs. Songwriting technique I will cover finding out what works for the individual as far as coming up with songs creatively, next it will be identifying the different parts of the song and what they mean, and lastly we will do a lab where we practice writing songs so that each student has the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice and can leave the class with that skill.
Learning Goals
The parts of a song as it relates to the singing part of songwriting, How to write a song according to his or her creative style of writing, how to develop and melody based on genre.
