Students will learn how to create songs using the elements of songwriting.  We will build their self confidence and creativity, by encouraging them to select themes and melodies for their songs.
Students will build successful social skills by interacting in a classroom setting with other students and myself.  I will help them appreciate the joy, fun and beauty of songwriting.  
Students will learn the structure of writing songs which will in turn, reinforce their creative writing and analytical skills as well as listening skills.

I have been teaching songwriting, poetry and creative writing/music for many years.  I am TEFL Certified and have a Communications Degree from Southern New Hampshire University.  I have taken Creative Writing Liberal Arts courses at SUNY Purchase and  I have volunteered my services to youth and adults in the creative arts field to inspire them and bring out their own creativity with confidence and gentle guidance.  
I have been singing and writing my own songs for over 15 years, I have a performing band and have recorded my own songs professionally.  I have taught and volunteered in person and online and I understand each learner is an individual so I love to inspire each learner on their own level with gentle guidance, positive encouragement and a nurturing environment.
