45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Each student will have a song prepared to sing for the class. If students are using an accompaniment track or YouTube karaoke track, please make sure that the student will still be visible while the track plays. (This can be done on a computer easily, but you‘ll need two devices to do it on a cell phone or tablet.) Each student will take turns singing for each other, and after each performance, I will offer feedback and work with the student to improve their song. Students will get to work with me on improving vocal technique (how you’re singing,) and musicality (the shape and phrasing,) for their song. Students may choose any style of song they’d like, and songs can be for upcoming auditions, performances, or just learning purposes. Students will also be encouraged to listen and offer positive feedback, to develop a discerning ear for singing. I will collaborate with the students to help them make the best sounds possible. Students are encouraged to have their songs memorized for the masterclass, but that is not required. Students do not need to know how to read music to participate in this class.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their performance of one song. We will discuss improving vocal technique, (volition, respiration, phonation, resignation, and articulation,) as well as musicianship (phrasing, dynamics, style). Students will also learn how to listen to singing with a critical ear, and tips and tricks for making the best performance.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Mrs. E, and I am a voice lesson teacher in Dallas, Texas. I've been teaching singing for over a decade, and it is my passion in life! I am looking forward to offering singing camps here on Outschool. I have a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from SMU, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Texas State University-San Marcos. Since then, I have taught private lessons in my home, in middle schools and high schools in North Texas, and at Dallas College. My teaching philosophy is simple: to create vocally healthy, confident musicians. I am so excited to be bringing some of my favorite things to Outschool: Disney, musical theatre, and singing!
