Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 6
In this one time class, students will be given guided practice problems to solve two-step algebraic equations (with integers). Focus on key terms: variables, inverse operation, operations, equations, integers.

Examples will be demonstrated through Google Slides and strategies will be explained step by step. Some examples, learners will be asked to work independently and then share responses.

Student's should know how to perform math operations (+, -, x, /). Students will be given immediate feedback, guided error correction, and reteaching as needed during the class. Strategies such as using inverse operations to find answers will be demonstrated as needed. Students should have a basic understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division before attending this class. If students prefer to use pencil and paper that is also accepted instead of white board.

We will also look into how multiplication and division can be represented differently in two step equations.
