This is a 2 day course that will assist learners in mastering the basic steps needed to solve 1 and 2 step equations (such as 2x=8 and 3x + 1 = 10) This is an introductory course to solving equations and will cover the basic process and simple equations. This class is intended for students who are just beginning to learn these Algebra skills in middle school or early high school, or who have struggled with them in the past and need a refresher. The class will allow learners to practice multiple equations, work independently and with the group, share their work with classmates, and asks questions about the process needed to solve equations. Students will have multiple opportunities to work problems, speak and share thoughts and questions, and participate in on screen activities. It is my goal to have each learner writing, speaking, sharing, and asking questions in every class. Day 1 of the class will cover the basic steps needed to solve one step equations. Learners will have opportunities to work a variety of problems based on their current skill level. There will be options for the struggling and excelling learner. Day 2 will be further review of process, and an introduction to 2 step equations. I am an energetic and outgoing teacher who hopes to get your learner excited about math and not intimidated. I look forward to seeing them in class!
