Description
Class Experience
Students will develop reading and spelling skills, letter sound correspondence, and phonemic awareness. They will practice using all of the short vowel sounds and several digraphs to build three and four letter words.
I am certified in elementary and early childhood education and have my Masters of Education in Effective Teaching of Reading and Mild to Moderate Learning Disabilities. I have taught for over seven years and love to help children become confident readers.
Homework is optional. Students will benefit from re-creating the words from that week with the help of an adult using the letter tiles or writing them in chalk, marker etc.
Please print out the provided page each week and *pre-cut* the letter tiles so that your student is ready to participate in a hands-on way during class. They will also need a pencil or other tool to write their words on their paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
An informal account of the student's progress will be provided to all families at the end of the course with recommendations of what skills the student should focus on next.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
