In this one-time course, students will learn key vocabulary for argumentative writing and mysteries. Students will then be involved in solving a murder mystery! They will be asked to write an argumentative piece based on their ideas.

In this course, students will learn key vocabulary for argumentative writing and mysteries. Students will then be involved in solving a murder mystery! They will be asked to breakdown the mystery using terms they learned earlier on. Additionally, students will write an argumentative piece based on their ideas. Students will improve their critical thinking skills and argumentative writing abilities.
I am offering this class as I have a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization in Kinesiology and am a Teacher Candidate in a Bachelor of Education program (teachables include Physical Education/Health and Science). I have taken multiple classes in English and writing techniques. I have also tutored students in English. I have past experiences teaching children with both learning and executive functioning disabilities. I am very excited to offer this fun and engaging class!
No homework will be assigned.
Curriculum materials will be provided by the teacher. Students do not need to purchase materials for this class. **Students will need to print the graphic organizer in advance and have a pencil available for class. The graphic organizer will be posted in advance of the beginning of class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment is utilized. Students will get feedback regarding in-class participation, discussion, and quality of work done in class.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
