Students are expected to prepare a vocal solo prior to class (3 minutes or less). Students can sing to a track, live accompaniment, or a cappella. A track is preferred, so rhythm and pitch can be assessed. But a cappella works fine. Memorization is also encouraged to offer the student a more challenging and enriching experience, but is not required.
