US Grade 4 - 6
Students will learn how healthy soils are made, how they are degraded and how they can be made healthy again. science, chemistry, plant biology, soil biology, polyculture planting practices.
I am a certified Permaculture teacher through Permaculture Institute of North America with a P.D.C. from the Permaculture Association of the U.K. I also hold certificates in Soil Science via Cornell Small Farms Program and in Sustainable Global Food Systems via Edinburgh University. I have worked in agriculture and horticulture from a very young age and presently design and build gardens for public and private clients. I write curriculums for both public and private schools and programs.

Assessments Offered
Discussion of the material on the final day will constitute informal assessment of learners grasp of the topics. My hope is to spark an interest that will continue beyond this class.
Grades Offered
A notebook and appropriate writing implements will be needed. colored pencils , crayons etc . Jar with lid, small shovel or sturdy spoon to dig up soil, gloves. If possible and available a microscope or magnifying glass. PG may be needed . There is alot of information to be covered but the subject matter is fun and intriguing.
