Class Experience
In this 4 week flexible class you will join me as I teach you the skills required to be a confident soft pastel artist! Each week I will share two videos with you. One will be a new technique which you can practise and share on the class page. Another will be a tutorial which will direct you through how to make a pastel masterpiece. You will be able to follow along with me as I draw using soft pastels, stopping the video as you go, so that you can add your own details into your work. After you have completed the masterclass with me. I will set an assignment each week where you can put into practice the skills you have learnt, and use your own wonderful imagination to produce your very own art work! This can be shared in the class page where we will encourage and support each other in how best to move forward with our artwork. Throughout each week I will also present you with a Pastel Masters Scavenger Hunt, where you may research (using the links provided) famous artists who have used pastels just like the masterpiece you are completing that week. These great finds can be shared on the class page and all students can gain ideas from these to add to their assignments. I will be available to answer and respond during each week. Once a week I will also hold a live question and answer session via the class link where you are welcome join and ask for advise or share what you have achieved so far in a live setting. The course will include- Week 1- Waves Crashing! In this masterclass you will learn how to blend, and create wave-like formations crashing upon a sandy beach. Hopefully by the time the pastel masterpiece is complete you will be able to hear those waves! Week 2- Poppy Fields In this masterclass you will learn how to create depth using layers of colour and also linear perspective as you pastel a beautiful field full of poppies blowing in the wind. Week 3- Cherry Blossoms In this master class you will learn how to create silhouettes using soft pastels and other mediums. We will also focus this week on creating detail to our drawings. Week 4- Wintery Scene In this master class you will learn about contrasts and shading as you create a frosty natural scene.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there!
I am a qualified British teacher living in the U.K. I have taught the 3-11 year old children for over for over 15 years. At present I teach part-time at a local school Here I teach 4-8 year olds Math Mastery and phonics.
My other passion is to teach children about the natural world through drawing and craft.
I am a qualified outdoor educator (Forest School Level 3), and cannot wait to bring the outside into your home. By teaching about the natural world I hope to encourage your child to go out, explore and become passionate about the natural world. Through drawing, natural crafts and stories I would hope to build a connection between your child and the natural world, that will light a spark of love for the outdoors, and will last them a lifetime.
I also love to pass on knowledge about my culture, I am originally from Wales, have lived in Scotland and now live in England... so there will be lots to learn in my lessons about these three countries of the United Kingdom.
I would wish your child to be so inspired by my lessons that they would want to find out more independently about art, nature and different cultures.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
