Social Studies for Fourth Graders - Part II
Class experience
In this fun and entertaining class that meets live once each week, learners will explore different themes of social studies including history, geography, economics, and civics (government). Along with the live class, students will receive a homework packet at the beginning of the week on Monday to complement the live classes. Homework will include a reading passage along with various forms of questions (short answer, fill-in-the-blank, multiple-choice, etc.). Web quests, draw-its, and...
I have over twenty years of experience working with and teaching students. I have a bachelor's degree in both History and Economics. My master's degree is in Higher Education. I also have a Juris Doctorate degree in Law. Most importantly, I have a passion for teaching, history in particular!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

Topics that are sensitive in nature may be discussed during this class. Some discussions will involve racial discrimination throughout history and the present, Native American rights, and voting rights. All discussions and assignments will be age-appropriate. If any inappropriate or insensitive comments are made, the comment will be addressed immediately and the class will be redirected in their discussion. If this happens more than once, an email will be sent to parents on the Outschool platform.
