Description
Class Experience
In this combination social studies and geography class, your learners will learn about various peoples around the globe. We will explore a different country each week and discover a varying array of exciting and fun facts. We will always locate the week's country on a world map and talk about its location in relation to where we live. Some weeks we will learn a couple words of the official language, while in others we might play a popular game of the children there. When appropriate, we might...
Learners will gain a sense of the world as a community and how children around the globe share a lot of the same interests and skills as they do.
Learners will not have required homework, but they will be strongly encouraged to explore certain things on their own outside of class. For instance, they might be asked to read the country of origin on products in a supermarket and then find that country on a map.
* All students need a world map or globe that is large enough for them to locate most countries in the world. * Pencil and paper are required for every class. * Crayons or colored pencils will be required for certain classes and should always be easily available.
Learners will be assessed according to participation in class.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
