30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
We will start the class with getting our chopped apples in the pot and simmering on the stove. Then as our apples cook, we will talk about different kinds of apples and chat about our favorites. Next we will talk about apple texture and through that we will work together to identify which apples are best for which recipes. Once our apples are tender, we will add some spices (if you like) and mash them into tasty applesauce. If you are concerned about you child mashing hot apples, please feel free to cook the apples before class so they have time to cool.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to make a simple apple sauce recipe, different apple types and how they are used
